Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough and culturally sensitive mental health assessments to understand patients' unique backgrounds and develop tailored treatment plans aimed at promoting optimal mental wellness.

• Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including individual, family, and group therapy sessions, that reflect an understanding of the patient’s cultural and personal circumstances.

• Actively engage in multidisciplinary collaboration, working alongside psychiatrists, psychologists, and other health professionals to ensure comprehensive care for each patient.

• Provide immediate crisis intervention when necessary, maintaining composure and professionalism during challenging situations.

• Educate patients and families about various mental health issues, available treatments, and community resources that can further support their recovery journey.

• Maintain meticulous and confidential documentation of all patient interactions in accordance with legal and ethical standards.

• Participate in regular case conferences, team meetings, and continuous professional development sessions focused on cultural competency.

• Stay abreast of the latest research, best practices, and evolving cultural considerations in mental health therapy.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.

• Possession of a current and valid license as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in the state of Virginia is mandatory.

• Demonstrated understanding of mental health disorders, culturally competent treatment methodologies, and evidence-based practices.

• Experience in delivering both individual and group therapy that incorporates diverse cultural perspectives.

• Strong crisis intervention skills and the ability to maintain calmness in distressing situations.

• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to establish rapport with patients from different backgrounds.

• Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and other relevant technological tools.

• Commitment to ethical standards, professional boundaries, and maintaining confidentiality in all aspects of practice.

Compensation and Benefits\n
