Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients to evaluate their mood disorder symptoms, including severity, frequency, and duration.

• Collaborate with clients to formulate individualized treatment plans that reflect their unique needs, preferences, and goals.

• Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), to support client recovery.

• Engage with clients and their families to educate them about mood disorders, available treatment options, and effective self-care strategies.

• Monitor client progress quantitatively and qualitatively, making appropriate adjustments to treatment plans as necessary.

• Collaborate with psychiatrists and healthcare professionals to ensure a coordinated approach to comprehensive patient care.

• Stay informed about the latest research in mood disorder treatments to continually evolve therapeutic approaches.

• Maintain precise and confidential records of client sessions and treatment plans, adhering to legal and ethical standards.

• Participate in interdisciplinary case consultations and professional development sessions to enhance clinical skills.

• Act as an advocate for clients, working towards reducing the stigma associated with mood disorders in the broader community.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This position focuses primarily on a diverse population of children and adolescents struggling with mood disorders, including but not limited to depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder. You will engage with young clients in a school-based context, addressing their specific academic and social challenges arising from their mental health conditions. Providing a safe and empathetic environment is key to building trust and facilitating effective therapy.

Qualifications\n

• Possession of a Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• A current and valid license as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in the state of Virginia.

• Demonstrated expertise in therapeutic modalities such as CBT and DBT specifically regarding mood disorders.

• A robust understanding of psychopharmacology and the capacity to collaborate effectively with psychiatrists and multidisciplinary teams.

• A proven history of successfully treating clients with mood disorders, evidenced by positive patient outcomes.

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills necessary for establishing rapport with clients and their families.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The position offers a competitive salary ranging from USD 80,000 to 100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Additional benefits include:
