You will be part of a dynamic community health clinic, where you’ll collaborate with a variety of healthcare professionals including medical providers, midwives, and lactation consultants to offer cohesive and integrated care for our clients. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough behavioral health assessments and create personalized treatment plans tailored to the unique needs and circumstances of the families we serve.

• Provide direct counseling services, offering emotional support and guidance to Black birthing families, ensuring they feel heard and understood.
\n
• Engage in collaborative discussions with prenatal care teams to cultivate a multidisciplinary approach in delivering comprehensive care.
\n
• Co-facilitate childbirth education and postpartum peer support groups, fostering community and shared experiences among birthing individuals.
\n
• Participate in community engagement activities aimed at promoting holistic wellness, resilience, and support networks for expecting and postpartum families.
\n
• Actively participate in clinical consultations and co-learning spaces, enhancing your skills and therapeutic techniques through collaborative learning.
\n
• Ensure all clinical documentation is completed timely and accurately, complying with organizational standards and regulation.
\n
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall mission of Connect Serenity Counseling Services.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This position specifically addresses the mental health needs of Black birthing individuals and their families. By providing culturally competent care that recognizes and respects the unique challenges faced by this demographic, you will play an essential role in improving maternal and family health outcomes in the community.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's degree in behavioral sciences or a related field from an accredited institution.
\n
• Active clinical licensure as an LCSW, LMFT, or LPCC in the state of California.
\n
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively within diverse, interdisciplinary teams in a collaborative and professional manner.

• Exceptional communication skills, with a capacity for active listening and empathetic engagement with clients and colleagues alike.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience in maternal mental health or working with birthing individuals and families is highly desirable.

• Familiarity with community resources available to support Black families and knowledge of cultural competency in mental health care.

• Previous involvement in educational workshops, support groups, or community outreach programs is a plus.
