Operator Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Operator to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Communicate with the Production Shift Supervisor to coordinate production line support staff in accomplishing the lines’ objectives;
- Assist in the training of new Operators;
- Communicate processing information to designated personnel on incoming shift. Assist other Operators as needed;
- Maintain work area to acceptable safety and housekeeping standards;
- Verify material usage per standards;
- Use of computers to access information, enter data and document information;
- Cut and band scrap as directed;
- Perform cycle counting and other inventory tasks, including material handling;
- Monitor Material control (weight distribution, regrind levels, watch tail lengths, etc);
- Troubleshooting errors that arise with equipment and machinery;
- Overall line responsibility from production to packaging;
- Participate in team meetings, which includes planning daily work and resource utilization, problem solving, project work, etc;
- Responsible for producing quality products per the build signal;
- Other duties as required;
- Temp-to-Hire.
Requirements:
- Must have experience working outdoors;
- Integrity and self-motivation required;
- At least 2 years of working experience in a high-tech manufacturing environment is desired;
- Applicant will be subject to a background check;
- Detail oriented;
- Possess basic reading, writing, and math skills;
- Able to tolerate exposure to hot and cold conditions, according to the season;
- Must be able to lift up to 40lbs;
- Must be able to climb ladders;
- Six months production experience preferred;
- Must be 18 years of age;
- Possess manual dexterity and good coordination;
- All candidates will be subject to pre-employment drug screen;
- Possess ability to resolve minor problems, recognize normal and unusual situations;
- Visually able to determine color, shape, and size of a part.
