Key Responsibilities

• Deliver direct physical therapy interventions aimed at alleviating pain, optimizing muscle function, and preventing disability, strictly following established care plans developed in collaboration with medical professionals.
• Supervise and mentor Physical Therapy Assistants (PTAs), ensuring they adhere to prescribed therapeutic approaches while providing outstanding care to clients.
• Conduct comprehensive evaluations using diagnostic tests to assess client functional abilities, taking into account various physical and health parameters.
• Provide recommendations to enhance clients' home environments, fostering independence and safety during their rehabilitation journeys.
• Implement manual therapeutic exercises and guide clients through structured non-manual routines, adapting approaches to meet individual goals.
• Utilize advanced treatments and physical agents, including massage and traction, as part of an evidence-based therapy regimen.
• Evaluate and fit prosthetic and orthotic devices as necessary and work collaboratively with physicians to ensure optimal customization.
• Contribute to the development and periodic review of comprehensive care plans, reflecting changes in client status and goals.
• Maintain meticulous clinical documentation, including initial evaluations, care plans, and progress notes, complying with all regulatory requirements.
• Actively participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to coordinate comprehensive patient treatment plans and improve overall client outcomes.
• Educate clients and their families about physical therapy methods and device usage to promote understanding and compliance.
• Foster a supportive environment for PTAs, ensuring they receive the guidance and feedback needed to thrive in their roles.
• Conduct on-site functional assessments to evaluate client progress and develop strategies for ongoing care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our patients encompass a diverse demographic, including individuals recovering from orthopedic surgeries, injuries, or chronic conditions. You will be working closely with clients in various stages of their rehabilitation journeys, requiring a compassionate approach tailored to each individual's needs and home environment.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy or equivalent educational background.
• Current, valid PT licensure in the state of Virginia, with a demonstration of clinical competency and commitment to compliance.
• One (1) year of professional experience in physical therapy, preferably in outpatient or home healthcare settings.
• Valid CPR certification reflecting your ability to respond promptly in emergency situations.
• Proficient understanding of federal, state, and local regulatory requirements affecting physical therapy practice.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills allowing for effective communication with clients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
• Strong capacity for leadership, demonstrating accountability and decisiveness in the clinical setting.
• Ability to provide professional judgment in delegating tasks to ensure a cohesive care approach.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in orthopedic rehabilitation with knowledge of relevant exercise protocols and treatment modalities.
• Proven track record of engaging with both patients and families to facilitate improved health outcomes.
• Previous experience supervising or mentoring less experienced staff, contributing to team development.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary for this position ranges from USD 90,000 to 110,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
