Work Environment

Your role as a Physical Therapist will be entirely onsite, directly engaging with patients in their residential settings across the Roanoke area. The home care aspect of this position allows you to tailor your therapeutic approaches based on the patient's daily environment, facilitating a more meaningful rehabilitation experience. Collaboration with other healthcare professionals is essential, ensuring that care is coordinated and comprehensive.

Key Responsibilities

• You will direct physical therapy treatments aimed at relieving pain, restoring muscular function, and enhancing the patient's physical performance within the scope of their capabilities, guided by a personalized care plan.
• Conduct thorough evaluations of patient functionality through diagnostic assessments that include tests for muscle, nerve, and joint capabilities.
• Oversee and instruct physical therapy assistants to ensure the effective application of treatment plans while maintaining compliance with legal and ethical standards.
• Regularly assess the patient's home environment, providing tailored recommendations that promote independence and successful rehabilitation outcomes.
• Administer therapeutic exercises, both manual and non-manual, and instruct patients on their importance in recovery.
• Implement physical modalities, such as traction and massage, to maximize treatment effectiveness.
• Evaluate, fit, and adjust any necessary prosthetic or orthotic devices, making recommendations to the prescribing physician as required.
• Participate actively in the interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss, plan, and evaluate comprehensive treatment strategies for each patient.
• Maintain clear, accurate clinical records including initial evaluations, care plans, and progress notes to track patient progress and inform ongoing care.
• Instruct the patient and their family on proper use and maintenance of therapeutic devices.
• Provide timely documentation for clinical and payroll needs, ensuring compliance with organizational policies.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your focus will be on patients recovering from orthopedic issues, including post-surgical rehabilitation, chronic pain management, and those with physical disabilities stemming from a variety of causes. Qualifications

• Must possess a Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
• A valid state license to practice as a Physical Therapist in Virginia.
• A minimum of one year of experience in an outpatient or home health setting, specifically with an orthopedic focus.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working in home health or with a focus on geriatric patients is highly desirable.
• Background in utilizing modern therapy technologies, including telehealth solutions, is beneficial.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive yearly salary ranging from USD 90,000 to 100,000, commensurate with experience.
