Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health evaluations and preliminary interviews, documenting client cases meticulously from initial consultation through to discharge.

• Assess clients’ emotional, mental, and behavioral health to promptly identify issues requiring immediate intervention.
\n
• Develop personalized treatment and recovery plans for individuals, couples, families, and groups, ensuring each plan is tailored to specific needs.
\n
• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions, using evidence-based therapeutic modalities to help clients gain insights and develop coping strategies.
\n
• Continuously monitor and evaluate client progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary based on outcomes and feedback.
\n
• Work collaboratively with other mental health professionals, including psychiatrists, physicians, social workers, and nurses, to coordinate care and ensure comprehensive support for clients.

• Provide follow-up care by liaising with clients’ psychiatrists or attending physicians, especially for those recently hospitalized.

• Identify and address behaviors that hinder recovery, employing preventive strategies to promote client well-being.

• Assist families and primary caregivers in managing challenges related to mental health, equipping them with resources and coping techniques.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, or LCSW within the state of Florida.

• A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE) is mandatory.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills essential for effective client interaction and documentation.

• Exceptional interpersonal skills, displaying empathy and compassion in all interactions.

Preferred Experience\n

• Previous experience as a mental health counselor working with various client populations is preferred.

• Familiarity with electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR, is an asset.

• Understanding of the spectrum of physical and emotional health conditions, as well as addiction disorders.

• Knowledge of best practices from the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) is highly desirable.

• In-depth understanding of psychopharmacology as it relates to client care.
