Work Environment

This position operates entirely remotely, allowing our team of professionals to provide care flexible to both our counselors' and patients' needs. Our work hours are structured from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with some flexibility required based on patient appointments and needs. As a remote organization, we leverage technology to facilitate communication and collaboration amongst our multi-disciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities

Your role as a Mental Health Counselor will encompass a variety of responsibilities that are essential to patient care:

• Conduct comprehensive, trauma-informed mental health assessments to understand patients' trauma histories and formulate appropriate treatment strategies.
• Develop and execute individualized treatment plans aimed at trauma recovery, incorporating techniques from proven therapeutic modalities such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).
• Deliver both individual and group therapy sessions, providing a safe space for patients to process trauma and develop healthy coping strategies.
• Collaborate closely with psychiatrists, psychologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a cohesive approach to patient care.
• Respond promptly to crisis situations, providing immediate support and intervention for trauma-related emergencies.
• Educate patients and their families on trauma responses and coping mechanisms, empowering them with knowledge and resources.
• Maintain meticulous and confidential documentation in alignment with both legal and ethical standards, ensuring the integrity of patient information.
• Engage in case consultations and team meetings, contributing to discussions around best practices in trauma-informed care.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in trauma therapy through ongoing professional development and training.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily support individuals dealing with the aftermath of traumatic experiences, including but not limited to survivors of violence, abuse, and significant life disruptions. Qualifications

The ideal candidate for this Mental Health Counselor position will possess the following qualifications:

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPCC, or LMFT in the state of California.
• At least 2 years of post-licensure experience in mental health counseling.
• Expertise in trauma-related disorders and a solid understanding of trauma-informed care principles.
• Demonstrated experience delivering evidence-based trauma-focused therapies and interventions.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a nurturing and non-judgmental demeanor towards patients.
• A calm and composed approach in high-pressure environments.
• Proficient in utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems and various computer applications.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team framework.

Preferred Experience

While not required, candidates with additional certification in trauma-specific modalities or specialized training in trauma-focused therapies will be viewed favorably. Experience with diverse populations and underserved communities is also a plus, as we prioritize cultural competency in our practice.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this role ranges from USD 90,000 to 110,000 per year, contingent upon experience and qualifications. In addition, we offer an attractive benefits package that includes:
