Work Environment

This role is designed to be fully remote, allowing for a balanced work-life integration while supporting a community-focused health clinic in Corpus Christi, Texas. With a structured work schedule from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, counselors can adjust their hours occasionally to meet specific patient needs. Key Responsibilities

As a Trauma-Informed Mental Health Counselor, you will be responsible for:

• Conducting comprehensive trauma-informed assessments that actively explore patients' traumatic histories.
• Developing personalized treatment plans that prioritize trauma recovery and building resilience.
• Applying evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and TF-CBT (Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy).
• Facilitating individual and group therapy sessions focused on trauma processing techniques and effective coping strategies.
• Building collaborative relationships with psychiatrists and interdisciplinary medical professionals to ensure integrated and holistic patient care.
• Providing crisis intervention services during trauma-related emergencies, prioritizing immediate and long-term patient safety.
• Educating patients and their families about trauma responses and sharing practical coping tools and available mental health resources.
• Maintaining meticulous clinical documentation that adheres to ethical, legal, and organizational standards.
• Participating in regular case consultations, team meetings, and training focused on enhancing trauma-informed care practices.
• Staying current with evolving research and best practices related to trauma therapy.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily work with a diverse clientele who is often grappling with the aftermath of trauma. Your ability to foster trust and empathy is crucial as you guide patients through their rehabilitation journeys. Many of your clients may come to you facing challenges such as PTSD, complex trauma responses, and dissociative disorders; each requiring sensitivity and a nuanced understanding of their unique narratives.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for this role will possess:

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, or Marriage and Family Therapy from an accredited institution.
• Active licensure as an LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker), LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor), or LMFT (Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist) in the state of Texas.
• A robust understanding of trauma-related disorders and effective, evidence-based treatment methodologies.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a compassionate and non-judgmental approach.
• Resilient problem-solving capabilities, particularly in high-stress situations.
• Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems to facilitate efficient patient management.
• An eagerness to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team setting.

Preferred Experience

While a minimum of two years of post-licensure experience in mental health counseling is required, preference will be given to candidates with hands-on experience specifically in trauma-informed therapeutic practices. Experience in conducting both individual and group therapy sessions is also valued, as well as a history of applying different therapeutic modalities tailored to the needs of trauma survivors.

Compensation and Benefits
