Key Responsibilities

• Perform trauma-informed mental health assessments to gain insight into patients' trauma histories and devise tailored treatment plans.
• Implement evidence-based therapeutic techniques, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to facilitate trauma recovery.
• Conduct both individual and group therapy sessions, guiding patients through their healing journey and helping them develop effective coping strategies.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team—including psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals—to provide an integrated approach to care for each patient.
• Respond to trauma-related crises with appropriate interventions to support clients during emergencies.
• Educate patients and their families on trauma responses and coping mechanisms, enhancing their understanding of available resources.
• Maintain meticulous documentation in compliance with ethical and legal standards while ensuring patient confidentiality.
• Engage in regular case consultations and team meetings to share insights and best practices, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Stay current with latest research and methodologies in trauma therapy, incorporating new findings into practice.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will primarily work with individuals who have experienced significant trauma, including those diagnosed with PTSD, complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. Our patients come from diverse backgrounds and may be dealing with a range of emotional and psychological challenges resulting from their experiences. Your work will be pivotal in helping them regain control over their lives, facilitating profound personal growth and recovery.

Qualifications

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.
• Current licensure as an LCSW, LPCC, or LMFT in California is mandatory to practice.
• We prefer candidates who have a minimum of two years of post-licensure clinical experience in a relevant setting.
• Comprehensive knowledge of trauma-related disorders and trauma-informed care principles is essential to succeed in this role.

Preferred Experience

• Hands-on experience with trauma-focused therapies and interventions that yield demonstrable outcomes is highly valued.
• Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems for documentation and patient management.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, enabling you to foster therapeutic alliances with patients and work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
