We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our exceptional team at Vera's Family and Children Wellness Center in Babylon, New York. This full-time position allows you to work remotely while providing vital mental health services to children and adolescents. As a member of our outpatient office, you will play a key role in supporting young individuals and their families facing a variety of mental health challenges.

Work Environment\n

In this remote position, flexibility is the cornerstone of your work environment. You’ll engage with clients primarily through virtual sessions, while having access to support and collaboration from our outpatient office team. Your work schedule will typically be Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional evening shifts to meet patient needs. The environment is collaborative, supportive, and focused on the professional development of our therapists.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments to identify the unique needs of children and adolescents.

• Design and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to the developmental stages and family dynamics of each patient.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and play therapy, to effectively address various mental health concerns.

• Lead family therapy sessions, equipping parents and caregivers with tools to foster a nurturing environment conducive to recovery.
\n
• Work closely with child psychiatrists and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care and ensure holistic treatment plans.

• Provide crisis intervention and guidance during mental health emergencies involving young clients.
\n
• Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, available treatment options, and relevant community resources.

• Maintain client confidentiality and accuracy in documentation, strictly adhering to legal and ethical standards.

• Participate actively in team meetings and case consultations to enhance collaborative care practices.

• Engage in continuous professional development by staying abreast of best practices, current research, and advancements in child and adolescent mental health.

The primary focus of this role is on children and adolescents, providing an opportunity to positively impact the lives of young individuals and their families. You’ll address a diverse range of mental health issues, interacting daily with patients facing unique challenges specific to their age group. Supporting the emotional and psychological well-being of this demographic is crucial, and your expertise will contribute to their overall development and future success.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LCSW-R, LMHC, or LMFT in the state of New York.

• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience is preferred.
\n
• Strong understanding of child and adolescent mental health disorders and evidence-based treatment methodologies.

• Experience providing individual and family therapy to youth.
\n
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrating a compassionate and child-centered approach.
\n
• Ability to build rapport and establish trust with children, adolescents, and their families.
\n
• Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and other relevant computer applications.
\n
• Proven ability to function effectively in a multidisciplinary team setting.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The competitive salary for this position ranges from USD 115,000 to 130,000 annually, commensurate with experience. We also offer a sign-on bonus to new hires. Our benefits package includes:
