Empower young learners and make an impact as a Special Education Teacher in a supportive, center-based setting for 3rd and 4th graders. This contract opportunity begins September 8, 2026, and continues through June 10, 2027, offering a chance to work closely with a small group of remarkable students with autism and cognitive disabilities.
You’ll lead a classroom of eight students alongside two dedicated paraprofessionals, delivering tailored academic and social-emotional programming throughout the school day. Your expertise will help nurture a positive environment where every child can thrive.
Key Qualifications:
- Current and active Special Education Licensure in Minnesota
- Experience working with students diagnosed with autism and cognitive disabilities
- Ability to write and implement IEPs and conduct evaluations
- Strong relationship-building skills with both students and colleagues
- Excellent organization and communication abilities
- Leadership skills to manage and collaborate with paraprofessionals
- Spanish language proficiency is highly desired
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction in a multi-age classroom setting
- Oversee and guide two paraprofessionals to maximize student success
- Develop, update, and manage IEPs and educational evaluations
- Foster a nurturing, inviting atmosphere for children and adults alike
- Collaborate with school staff, related service providers, and families
- Support positive behavioral and social outcomes for all students
