Key Responsibilities\n

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Conducting culturally sensitive and strength-based assessments for new clients and their families to identify their unique needs and challenges.

• Providing individualized and family therapy sessions tailored to meet the specific requirements of each client, employing therapeutic techniques that align with their treatment goals.

• Completing all necessary clinical documentation, including billing, individualized treatment plans, and insurance authorization forms, adhering to specified timelines to ensure compliance and efficiency.

• Developing crisis plans and safety plans as needed, in addition to relapse prevention and wellness plans, to help clients maintain stable mental health functioning.

• Creating comprehensive discharge plans that outline aftercare strategies to support sustained recovery.
\n
• Ensuring compliance with all applicable federal and state laws, regulations, and organizational policies to provide ethical and legally sound care.

• Engaging in ongoing professional development through training and continuing education opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in mental health practices.

• Participating in case consultations and team meetings to align on treatment strategies and share collaborative insights.

Qualifications\n

The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following qualifications:

• A Master’s degree in social work, counseling, marriage and family therapy, or a closely related field that qualifies you for licensure.

• Current licensure as a mental health therapist in the State of New York (LMHC, LMFT, LCSW) is required.

Preferred Experience\n

A minimum of two years of relevant experience in the mental health field is preferred, ideally within a community health setting. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems will be advantageous for maintaining documentation and coordinating care.
