Work Environment

Key Responsibilities

As a Physical Therapist at Valera, your responsibilities will include:

• Conducting comprehensive evaluations of clients' physical conditions, employing diagnostic methodologies to assess muscle, nerve, joint, and functional capabilities.
• Designing and implementing individualized treatment plans aimed at alleviating pain, restoring function, and improving mobility based on a physician's prescriptions.
• Directing and supervising Physical Therapy Assistants to ensure adherence to the established care plans and deliver safe, effective therapy interventions.
• Administering various therapeutic modalities such as manual therapy techniques, therapeutic exercises, and utilization of physical agents to promote healing.
• Conducting home assessments to recommend modifications that enhance patient independence and ensure safety in their living environments.
• Documenting all client interactions, treatment outcomes, and progress in compliant clinical records, including OASIS assessments and care plans.
• Engaging with interdisciplinary teams during case conferences to collaboratively plan and evaluate the holistic treatment path for clients.
• Providing education and training for clients and families on therapeutic exercises, equipment usage, and strategies to enhance recovery at home.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your role will center on a diverse patient population, including individuals recovering from surgery, strokes, injuries, chronic pain, and other conditions affecting mobility and function. You will play a vital role in aiding patients to achieve maximum recovery potential, facilitating their transition from healthcare facilities to independent living environments. Qualifications

To succeed in this role, candidates must possess:

• A Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited program.
• A valid license to practice as a Physical Therapist in the state of New Jersey.
• Current CPR certification to ensure readiness for any emergency situations.
• A valid driver's license and automobile insurance for transportation to client homes.

Preferred Experience

Ideal candidates will have at least 2 years of experience in a physical therapy setting, preferably in home care or similar environments. Experience in acute care or rehabilitation is highly valued.
