Licensed Orthopedic Physical Therapist for Home Care - Full-Time

Work Environment

This role is primarily onsite and will involve traveling to the homes of our patients throughout the Fredericksburg area. You will enjoy a flexible work schedule, allowing you the freedom to choose your hours within the Monday to Friday framework. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients in their home environment, assessing their physical capabilities, limitations, and personal goals.
• Design and implement individualized treatment plans that utilize evidence-based practices and diverse therapeutic modalities including exercises, hands-on techniques, and assistive devices.
• Monitor and document patient progress meticulously, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans based on ongoing assessment and feedback.
• Educate patients and their families on therapeutic techniques, equipment usage, and steps they can take to aid their recovery.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians and other healthcare professionals, to ensure integrated patient care.
• Engage in professional development by attending workshops and training sessions to remain updated on the latest best practices in physical therapy.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on orthopedic patients, ranging from young individuals recovering from sports injuries to older adults needing rehabilitation after hip or knee surgeries. Every patient presents a unique case, and you will be responsible for crafting personalized experiences that respect their individual health journeys. Helping them regain strength, mobility, and confidence will be your measure of success.

Qualifications

• A Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited institution is required.
• A valid state license in Physical Therapy is mandatory to practice in Virginia.
• At least two years of relevant clinical experience in a physical therapy setting, preferably with a focus on orthopedic rehabilitation.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey treatment plans and engage with patients and their families.
• Proficiency in computer skills, including the ability to utilize electronic medical records (EMRs) for documentation and patient management.
• Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and demonstrate flexibility in various situations.

Preferred Experience

Experience working in home health care or community-based settings is a plus, as it equips you with a unique understanding of the challenges patients may face outside traditional clinical environments. Familiarity with assistive technologies and adaptive techniques to aid mobility and self-care will further enhance your effectiveness in this role.

Compensation and Benefits
