Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough and compassionate assessments to gather information regarding clients' mental health status and substance use history, utilizing screening tools and interviews to identify treatment needs.

• Design tailored treatment plans that holistically address both substance misuse and underlying mental health issues, incorporating evidence-based methods that resonate with each client.

• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions, employing therapeutic modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and motivational interviewing (MI) to foster personal growth and recovery.

• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure an integrated approach to care, actively participating in case conferences and coordinating with other providers for comprehensive treatment solutions.

• Support families of clients by providing educational resources and strategies to foster understanding and facilitate their involvement in the recovery process.

• Maintain detailed and confidential records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and ethical standards, using electronic health record (EHR) systems for tracking client progress and treatment outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You will primarily work with clients dealing with substance abuse issues, as well as those experiencing co-occurring mental health disorders such as anxiety, depression, and trauma-related disorders. Our clients come from diverse backgrounds and present unique challenges; thus, a strong emphasis on cultural competency and individualized care is imperative.

Qualifications\n

• A current and valid license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in New York.

• A master’s degree or doctoral degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field is required.

• Strong knowledge of and experience with evidence-based practices for treating substance use and mental health disorders.

• Exemplary communication and interpersonal skills that allow for effective rapport building with clients and teamwork with colleagues.
