Accounts Payable Specialist

Role Description The Accounts Payable Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in the New York City Metropolitan Area. This role is responsible for processing accounts payable invoices for a portfolio of assigned properties, including paying invoices through Bill Pay Express and reviewing invoice data — such as invoice number, dollar amount, general ledger coding, and description — for accuracy. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing accounts payable invoices on A/P aging reports weekly to determine accuracy and validity, investigating and correcting any aged invoices as needed (e.g., reversing or adjusting entries), and reconciling Yardi to vendor statements on a quarterly basis. The specialist will also record all manual checks for payments made online or automatically debited from property bank accounts. The position requires consistent attention to detail, strong communication with ownership, investors, leadership, and staff, and the ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong accounts payable experience, including 2-3 years of hands‑on experience as an Accounts Payable administrator within commercial real estate accounting. Candidates should possess Yardi Voyager experience (required). Candidates should possess advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, and related functions. Candidates should possess strong communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with ownership, investors, leadership, and staff. Candidates should possess strong organizational skills, including the ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment.
