Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health evaluations, including preliminary consultations that encompass comprehensive interviews, assessments, and documentation throughout the entire treatment process.

• Develop personalized treatment and intervention plans for a wide range of clients, including individuals, couples, families, and groups.

• Design and lead individual and group therapy sessions, effectively promoting therapeutic engagement and sharing best practices from current evidence-based methodologies.

• Monitor client progress and adapt treatment plans as necessary, ensuring that all adjustments align with the established therapeutic goals and client feedback.

• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of mental health professionals, including psychiatrists, nurses, and social workers, to create cohesive intervention plans that support holistic client care.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.

• Active and valid licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Texas is mandatory.

• A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE) is essential.

• Proficiency in utilizing electronic health record systems, specifically AVATAR, to document records of client interactions and treatment outcomes.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, demonstrating the ability to connect with clients and their families compassionately.

• Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a focus on empathy and active listening, to create a safe therapeutic environment and build trust with clients.

Preferred Experience\n

• Prior experience as a mental health counselor or in a similar role is advantageous, particularly with clients presenting with co-occurring disorders or complex needs.

• Working knowledge of the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) best practices.
