Adventist Physical Health Rehabilitation is seeking a dedicated and passionate full-time Physical Therapist to join our dynamic orthopedic outpatient practice in Portsmouth, Virginia. We pride ourselves on delivering comprehensive care tailored to meet the unique needs of our patients, primarily those covered by private medical insurance. Our experienced team comprises two skilled physical therapists and one physical therapy assistant (PTA) who work in harmony to provide high-quality care.

Work Environment

The Physical Therapist will work onsite in our specialized orthopedic outpatient facility in Portsmouth, VA. Our setting fosters a collaborative and supportive atmosphere where clinical expertise and compassion unite. Scheduled hours are Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM, allowing for a balanced work-life integration. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations to accurately assess patient needs and establish tailored treatment plans.
• Maintain a patient load of one individual per hour to ensure focused and personalized care.
• Utilize a variety of treatment techniques—including manual therapy and exercise programming—to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
• Minimize reliance on medications by exploring non-surgical alternatives and advocating for non-invasive treatment strategies.
• Develop customized fitness and wellness plans aligned with the specific goals of patients, ensuring a holistic approach to recovery.
• Document all patient interactions and treatment services in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of treatments, monitor patient progress, and continually refine care plans as necessary.
• Inspire and motivate patients throughout their rehabilitation journey to optimize functionality and promote a healthy lifestyle.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our patient base primarily consists of individuals seeking rehabilitation for orthopedic conditions, including but not limited to postoperative recovery, chronic pain management, and sports-related injuries. Qualifications

• A Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited institution is required.
• Must hold an active physical therapy license in the state of Virginia with no board or disciplinary actions.
• Strong manual therapy skills, with a proficiency in developing effective exercise programs tailored to patient-specific needs.
• Experience working in orthopedic outpatient settings is preferred.
• Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) software, such as WebPT, is highly advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits

This full-time position offers a competitive annual salary ranging from $90,000 to $110,000, commensurate with experience, alongside a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance, retirement plans, and opportunities for continuing education.
