Work Environment

This role is set in an onsite rehabilitation facility in Portsmouth, VA, where you will work closely with a supportive team in a vibrant and engaging clinical atmosphere. Operating on a Monday to Friday schedule from 9 AM to 5 PM, our practice is designed to foster both patient-centered and therapist-friendly workflows. The facility is equipped with modern therapy tools and resources that facilitate effective treatment and patient engagement.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess and understand each patient's individual goals and needs to provide tailored physical therapy solutions.
• Maintain a manageable patient caseload of one individual per hour, ensuring personalized attention and care during each session.
• Utilize your previous experience in orthopedic outpatient care to create comprehensive treatment plans based on patient evaluations.
• Implement effective, cost-efficient treatment modalities aimed at enhancing patient mobility and functionality.
• Reduce reliance on medications by exploring and recommending appropriate non-surgical interventions.
• Engage in evidence-based practices to deliver quality care that aligns with the latest therapeutic standards.
• Monitor treatment progress through ongoing evaluation and maintain open lines of communication with patients and their families.
• Document all treatment services promptly in electronic medical records (EMR) systems to ensure continuity of care.
• Assist patients in achieving their wellness goals by promoting lifestyle changes that enhance strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic approach to each patient's treatment plan.

Our patient demographic primarily consists of individuals covered by private medical insurance, seeking therapeutic interventions for orthopedic conditions. Qualifications

• A Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited program.
• Current licensure as a Physical Therapist in the state of Virginia, with no disciplinary actions on record.
• Demonstrated proficiency in manual therapy techniques and developing effective exercise plans tailored to individual patient needs.
• Experience with EMR software, especially WebPT, to track patient progress and document treatments efficiently.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, allowing for engaging interactions with patients and interdisciplinary teams.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience in an orthopedic outpatient setting is highly desirable to understand the nuances of managing varied patient cases.
• Clinical practice in a sports medicine environment is a plus, as it enriches your ability to address complex functional needs.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary ranging from $90,000 to $110,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
