Work Environment

Our outpatient office features a spacious and modern treatment area, designed specifically for orthopedic care. You will work alongside a small, supportive team of healthcare professionals, including two other experienced physical therapists. We utilize the Athena Health electronic medical record (EMR) system to maintain patient records efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess patients' physical abilities and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Deliver therapies and interventions that include therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and modalities to enhance mobility and reduce pain.
• Monitor and document patient progress meticulously, implementing adjustments to care plans as necessary.
• Educate patients and their families about prescribed exercises and self-management strategies to optimize recovery.
• Motivate patients throughout their treatment journey to maximize participation and improve outcomes.
• Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians and other healthcare professionals, to ensure coordinated care.
• Contribute to a positive and motivating clinic atmosphere, reinforcing the importance of a healthy lifestyle and physical activity.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will engage with a diverse patient population, primarily consisting of individuals recovering from orthopedic surgeries, injuries, and sports-related conditions. Many patients seek rehabilitation to enhance their strength, balance, and coordination, especially as they pursue an active lifestyle or return to athletics. By working with both commercial insurance and private pay patients, you will cultivate skills in addressing a variety of financial and personal circumstances, helping each patient reach their individual health goals.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy is required.
• A valid license to practice physical therapy in the state of Virginia is essential.
• In-depth clinical knowledge and a commitment to evidence-based practice are essential.

Preferred Experience
