Accounting Director - CPA

Company Overview Founded in 1977 as the Senior Care Action Network (SCAN), the organization serves over 500,000 older adults across the Western United States. Responsibilities Month‑end close and GL account reconciliation using Oracle ARC. Oversee all accounting activities and related audits, fixed‑asset accounting, accounts‑payable processing including year‑end 1099 reporting, commission payment, and integration of strategic expansion opportunities. Implement new systems, tools and processes within the function, driving continuous improvement and change‑management. Identify opportunities for efficiency, standardization and innovation and collaborate cross‑functionally to ensure successful adoption. Oversee broker commission payments for SCAN and its subsidiaries. Review all general‑ledger reconciliations for the ARCS module and provide variance explanations. Monthly, quarterly and annual accounting close and preparation of consolidated financial statements for SCAN. Year‑end financial audit of all legal entities. Coordinate with subsidiaries to prepare quarterly and annual consolidations and financial statements (BS, IS & CF). Establish procedures in accordance with GAAP and company requirements. Review capital projects and work with the Director of Facilities for proper accounting. Support expansion and strategic growth opportunities in partnership with the controller. Motivate and develop staff through coaching, training and goal reviews. Partner with other functional areas to maintain financial discipline. Partner with the Data Warehouse team for reporting through BI tools. Support all internal, external and regulatory audits relating to the accounting department. Assist FP&A in the annual budget and reforecasting process. Maintain professional knowledge through workshops, publications and professional societies. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree (required) and an active CPA (or ability to obtain within 6months). 5‑7years of experience in GAAP‑based financial management and 5years of leadership experience. 10+years of progressive management experience within finance and accounting. Strong leadership skills to manage and develop the accounting team. Proficiency in accounting principles, financial reporting standards and regulatory requirements. Ability to analyze complex financial data, identify issues and develop solutions. Strong knowledge of Oracle Fusion Cloud (preferred) and experience with report writers. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to meet tight deadlines and work evenings as needed. Benefits Base pay range: $195,000–$235,000 annually. Annual employee bonus program.
