Work Environment

This role entails an onsite work setting in clients' homes within the West McLean area. Key Responsibilities

As an Orthopedic Physical Therapist, your responsibilities will include:

• Developing and implementing tailored treatment plans aimed at preventing disabilities, alleviating pain, and optimizing muscle function for orthopedic patients.
• Administering comprehensive evaluations that assess patients' functional capabilities, using diagnostic tools to identify areas for improvement.
• Overseeing Physical Therapy Assistants to ensure accurate execution of care plans and adherence to established therapeutic protocols.
• Conducting functional assessments in patients' homes to create realistic and sustainable rehabilitation strategies.
• Utilizing manual therapy techniques, therapeutic exercises, assistive devices, and modalities like traction and massage to maximize each client's rehabilitation potential.
• Documenting patient progress meticulously, including initial evaluations, ongoing therapy updates, and discharge summaries in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Engaging in case conferencing with interdisciplinary teams to refine treatment approaches and enhance patient outcomes.
• Providing education to patients and their families about treatment procedures and the effective use of physical therapy devices.
• Maintaining open communication with physicians and case managers, reporting any changes in a client's condition to ensure timely adjustments to care plans.
• Participating in the ongoing development and optimization of patient care protocols within the organization.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will primarily work with adult and elderly patients who have undergone orthopedic surgeries or suffer from degenerative musculoskeletal conditions. Your expertise in tailored rehabilitation strategies will be instrumental in helping clients regain mobility and independence while facing the challenges posed by aging or injury.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• A Doctorate or Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
• Current and valid state licensure as a Physical Therapist in Virginia.
• Current CPR certification and a valid driver's license with automobile insurance.
• A strong commitment to clinical excellence, professionalism, and ethical standards in patient care.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting with a focus on patient advocacy.

Preferred Experience

While one year of physical therapy experience in acute or home care settings is required, preference will be given to candidates with:
