Work Environment\n

As a remote position, therapists will conduct sessions primarily through virtual platforms, supplemented by in-home visits when necessary. Our outpatient office serves as a hub for collaborative efforts with fellow healthcare professionals. Our flexible work structure allows therapists to adapt their schedules to accommodate the needs of their clients, particularly focusing on after-school hours from 4 PM to 7 PM on weekdays.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct individual in-home or group therapy sessions, focusing on behavioral interventions tailored to the needs of each child.
\n
• Implement strategies for anger management, coping skills, and social skills development while effectively minimizing high-risk behaviors, such as self-injurious behavior (SIB) and aggression.

• Work closely with both youth and their caretakers to enhance decision-making skills aimed at managing in-home behavioral challenges.
\n
• Actively collaborate with the Child Family Treatment Team and other interdisciplinary professionals to ensure comprehensive support for the entire family unit.
\n
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all therapeutic interactions, including intake assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes.
\n
• Participate in monthly team meetings to discuss progress, share insights, and submit recommendations for care adjustments.
\n

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Our focus is on children and adolescents aged 3 to 20 with developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges. This role involves engaging with a diverse cross-section of clients, providing culturally competent care—bilingual skills in Spanish or Portuguese are highly desirable. You will have the opportunity to work closely with families facing unique challenges, helping to navigate complex emotional and behavioral landscapes.

Qualifications\n

• A valid and unrestricted LMFT license in New Jersey.

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, Psychology, or a closely related field.
\n
• A willingness to commit to a minimum of 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours, with additional availability during weekends being a plus.

• Proficient understanding of positive behavior support frameworks.
\n
• A valid driver’s license and access to a registered vehicle for client visitations.
\n
• Ability to pass a criminal background check, including fingerprinting.

Preferred Experience\n

• Prior experience working with children aged 3-20, especially those with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities (I/DD).

• Experience in delivering services tailored to youth with behavioral challenges and working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.

• Familiarity with various therapeutic methodologies and intervention strategies that address behavioral and emotional issues.

Compensation and Benefits\n
