Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough evaluations by reviewing patients’ medical histories, performing detailed assessments, and documenting findings to create individualized treatment plans.
• Clearly communicate evaluation results and treatment plans to patients and their families, actively involving them in goal setting and educating them about their conditions.
• Implement treatment protocols based on evaluation findings, adapting techniques to align with the patient’s progress and changing health care dynamics.
• Consult with interdisciplinary healthcare teams as necessary to provide comprehensive care. You’ll recognize and document any changes in patients’ conditions and adjust care plans accordingly, ensuring timely interventions.
• Manage discharge planning effectively, including follow-up care discussions, timely documentation of patient encounters, and outlining a clear picture of the patient’s treatment journey.
• Efficiently manage your schedule and deliver on productivity expectations while participating in hospital and community events to promote our services.
• Contribute to the ongoing development of departmental goals and comply with all regulatory requirements to maintain high standards of care.
• Engage in continuous professional development, seeking out educational opportunities to enhance clinical skills and knowledge, while also mentoring new hires or students as needed.
• Promote a positive patient experience by being flexible and responsive to their needs, assisting with any barriers to access to care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will treat a diverse patient population, including individuals recovering from surgery, sports injuries, neurological conditions, and chronic pain. Your personalized care approach will make a significant impact on each patient’s functional recovery and overall quality of life, highlighting our commitment to a holistic approach to rehabilitation.

Qualifications

• A Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy (DPT) is a must.
• Must possess a valid license to practice physical therapy in the State of Virginia.
• Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers is required.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, along with a commitment to teamwork and collaboration.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in an outpatient physical therapy setting is preferred, although exceptional new graduates are also encouraged to apply.

Compensation and Benefits
