Key Responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate clients' physical abilities using a variety of diagnostic tests related to muscle, nerve, joint, and functional capabilities, to inform treatment plans.
• Develop individualized physical therapy plans that aim to prevent disability, relieve pain, restore function, and enhance client performance within their physical capabilities.
• Administer hands-on therapeutic exercises and employ manual techniques, such as traction and massage, to promote recovery.
• Instruct clients and their families on effective exercises and therapeutic techniques, ensuring they are motivated and fully understand their treatment plans.
• Supervise Physical Therapy Assistants in the delivery of therapy sessions, ensuring adherence to the prescribed plan while providing guidance where necessary.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team in case conferences to discuss client progress and adapt treatment plans as needed based on ongoing evaluations.
• Maintain meticulous clinical records, including initial evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries, in accordance with best practices and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct home assessments to optimize the rehabilitation environment and make appropriate recommendations to enhance the clients’ independence.
• Stay current with advancements in physical therapy practices and assist in training programs or workshops for continuous professional development.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.

• Current CPR certification to ensure life-saving skills are up to date.
• A valid driver's license and automobile insurance, as travel may be required for home evaluations.
