Work Environment\n

Monday through Friday, you will work from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional evening shifts required to accommodate patient needs. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough and compassionate mental health assessments that focus on the unique behavioral, cognitive, and emotional needs of elderly clients.

• Develop individualized treatment plans that consider cognitive declines, physical health issues, and social determinants affecting mental health.

• Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including individual, group, and family therapy aimed at addressing geriatric-specific psychiatric conditions.

• Collaborate with geriatric psychiatrists and multidisciplinary teams to ensure that all aspects of patient care are integrated.

• Provide crisis intervention services to clients experiencing acute mental health emergencies.

• Educate clients and families on mental health conditions, treatment options, and available resources within the community.

• Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with legal, ethical, and organizational standards.

• Participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities to improve your practice and share insights with your colleagues.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be the geriatric population, where you will address a variety of mental health disorders and emotional challenges. This includes providing support to older adults dealing with life transitions, chronic illness, and complex mental health disorders such as depression and anxiety. Your empathetic approach and ability to build rapport will be key in establishing trust and aid in their journey towards improved mental wellness.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current licensure as an LCSW, LCPC, or LMFT in Illinois is essential.

• Strong understanding of geriatric mental health disorders and evidence-based treatment modalities.

• Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to connect deeply with elderly patients and their families.

• Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) management and related computer applications.

Preferred Experience\n

• A minimum of two years of experience post-licensure, ideally in a geriatrics-focused setting.

Compensation and Benefits\n
