HEALTH & SAFETY-Health Education-Family: Adjunct / Substitute Instructor POOL (non-credit) This is a part‑time and temporary faculty position teaching health education courses within the San Diego Community College District. Classes may be held at the City, Mesa or Miramar campuses and at various continuing education centers. Assignments are scheduled as needed and may include day, evening, weekend, or off‑campus sessions. Applicants are admitted to an adjunct pool that is not tied to an immediate opening. Qualified candidates will be considered for assignments in the fall, spring, and summer semesters of the academic year. The district expects applicants to reside within commuting distance of San Diego. Major Responsibilities Prepare and deliver instruction in accordance with the established curriculum and course outlines. Maintain appropriate professional conduct and ethics throughout the teaching term. Keep current knowledge in the subject matter areas. Serve as a resource for students outside of class hours. Maintain accurate instructional records and complete required documentation. Teach all scheduled classes as assigned. Create an environment that encourages learning and discussion of ideas and interests. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Health Science, Health Education, Biology, Nursing, Dietetics, or Nutrition from a regionally accredited institution, OR an Associate degree in one of these fields plus four (4) years of professional experience related to the subject of the course, OR the equivalent. Demonstrated cultural competency and sensitivity to diverse student populations. Valid full‑time, clear California Designated Subjects Adult Education Teaching Credential authorizing instruction in the subject of the course (if required). Required Credentials Official college transcripts. Certificate of Tuberculosis Exam renewed every four years. Live Scan fingerprints (district expense) and proof of eligibility to work in the United States. Posting Number
