Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct initial evaluations to assess the severity and duration of mood disorder symptoms, identifying key areas where support is needed.

• Develop individualized treatment plans in partnership with clients, integrating their personal goals, preferences, and situations into therapeutic approaches.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to facilitate effective interventions.

• Educate clients and their families on mood disorders, treatment modalities, self-care strategies, and coping mechanisms, fostering a collaborative therapeutic environment.

• Monitor client progress diligently, revising treatment plans as necessary to ensure that interventions remain effective and aligned with the clients' evolving needs.

• Engage in interdisciplinary collaboration with psychiatrists and allied health professionals to coordinate comprehensive care for clients.

• Stay informed about the latest research and advancements in the treatment of mood disorders to continuously enhance clinical skills and therapeutic efficacy.

• Maintain meticulous and confidential records in accordance with legal standards and ethical guidelines, ensuring integrity in documentation.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The successful candidate will work predominantly with clients experiencing mood disorders such as depression, bipolar disorder, and anxiety. These individuals may vary from regular clients to marginalized groups including refugees and survivors of domestic abuse, requiring sensitivity, empathy, and a firm understanding of their unique challenges.

Qualifications\n

• A current and active state license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).

• A Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a related field.
