Work Environment\n

This position is primarily remote, allowing flexible work arrangements while still fostering a strong team dynamic and community. Although work is conducted from home, counselors maintain regular communication with team members and partake in virtual staff meetings to enhance collaboration and professional development. The outpatient office model of our practice enables counselors to engage with clients through telehealth sessions effectively, ensuring accessibility and continuity of care.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct intake interviews with new clients, assessing their needs through both verbal assessment and psychological evaluation tools to develop accurate diagnoses.

• Facilitate individual, group, and family therapy sessions utilizing evidence-based therapeutic modalities, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
\n
• Prepare and regularly maintain thorough progress notes, including notes on treatment plans, session summaries, and referrals, while adhering to confidentiality standards.
\n
• Provide specialized services such as program coordination within the Behavioral Health Department, ensuring the successful implementation of mental health initiatives.
\n
• Engage in community outreach by assisting in the development of resources and preventive programs aimed at improving access to mental health services.
\n
• Provide crisis management and intervention when necessary, demonstrating an ability to assess immediate risks and develop safety plans for clients.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The ideal candidate will have experience working with a diverse client population, which includes individuals grappling with various mental health conditions, trauma, addiction issues, and co-occurring disorders. Our clients come from various backgrounds, bringing unique challenges and perspectives that our counselors must navigate with empathy and expertise.

Qualifications\n

• Must possess a Master’s degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) is required.

• At least two (2) years of post-graduate experience providing mental health services and crisis management.
\n
• Demonstrated understanding of addiction issues and their interplay with mental health treatment.
\n
• Ability to relate effectively with clients and demonstrate respect for all individuals.
\n
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with clients, families, and team members effectively.

Preferred Experience\n

• Familiarity with trauma-informed care principles and a deep understanding of the complexities surrounding homelessness, post-traumatic stress, and other co-occurring disorders is highly desirable.

• Experience in community resource coordination to enhance mental health service accessibility.

• Competence in electronic health record (EHR) systems for documentation and client management.
