Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive trauma-informed mental health assessments to evaluate patients' trauma history, leading to the formulation of effective treatment strategies.

• Develop and implement personalized treatment plans that center around trauma recovery, utilizing evidence-based therapies including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).

• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions that encourage patients to express and process their trauma, develop coping strategies, and build resilience.

• Collaborate closely with psychiatrists and other mental health professionals, ensuring a holistic and integrated approach to patient care.

• Provide crisis intervention and support during trauma-related emergencies, offering immediate assistance and stabilization strategies.

• Educate patients and their families regarding trauma responses, coping mechanisms, and available resources, enhancing their understanding and engagement in the recovery process.

• Maintain precise and confidential documentation compliant with all legal and ethical standards, ensuring thorough record-keeping for each patient interaction.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

As a Mental Health Therapist at Medina Behavioral Health Center, you will directly support individuals who have experienced various forms of trauma. Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.

• Possession of current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in the state of New York is essential.

• Strong foundational knowledge of trauma-related disorders and trauma-informed treatment modalities is necessary.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills accompanied by a compassionate, non-judgmental approach when interacting with patients.

• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and proficiency in using relevant computer applications.

Preferred Experience\n

While a minimum of two years of post-licensure experience is preferred, candidates who demonstrate an understanding of trauma-focused therapies will be given priority. Previous experience in an outpatient setting also enhances your application.

Compensation and Benefits\n
