Lead Nurse Practitioner - Outpatient Cardiology at Ensured Care Medical Center

Position Overview

Ensured Care Medical Center is actively seeking a dedicated and skilled Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our outpatient practice in Elizabeth, New Jersey, specifically at the Center for Advanced Cardiac Care (CACC). This full-time position is primarily onsite at our state-of-the-art hospital facility, where the NP will play an integral role in delivering high-quality cardiovascular care under the guidance of our Chief Nurse Practitioner and the Medical Director of the Division of Cardiology.

Work Environment

The selected Nurse Practitioner will operate from our outpatient cardiology office, which provides a collaborative environment designed to foster communication and teamwork among staff. The CACC is equipped with cutting-edge technology, enabling the provision of advanced diagnostic tests and treatment plans. Our office hours are Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm, allowing for a structured schedule without the demands of weekends or night shifts.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with a dynamic team of cardiologists, nurse practitioners, and registered nurses to coordinate and deliver comprehensive patient care.
• Assess, diagnose, and manage adults with cardiovascular diseases, including but not limited to Hypertension, High Cholesterol, Coronary Artery Disease, Congestive Heart Failure, and arrhythmias.
• Conduct thorough patient histories and physical examinations, prescribe medications, and determine individualized treatment plans based on clinical guidelines and patient needs.
• Provide outpatient electrophysiology services, handle abnormal electrocardiograms, and manage patients requiring cardiac devices.
• Facilitate and interpret results from stress testing and other diagnostic procedures, ensuring timely follow-up care.
• Engage in ongoing consultations and collaborative care with onsite cardiologists to optimize treatment efficacy.
• Educate patients and their families about cardiovascular health, management plans, and lifestyle modifications, ensuring understanding and engagement in their own health outcomes.
• Refer patients to specialized care within the cardiology group when necessary to ensure holistic treatment.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The NP will primarily care for adult patients with various cardiovascular conditions in the outpatient setting. This role serves a diverse patient population, including those with chronic heart conditions and individuals seeking preventive cardiovascular care. The ability to communicate effectively with patients from different backgrounds is essential in promoting adherence to treatment plans and lifestyle changes.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, with an active and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in New Jersey.
• Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program, culminating in a Master’s or Doctoral degree.
• Certification as a Nurse Practitioner, with credentials relevant to cardiology preferred.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience in cardiology, either in inpatient or outpatient settings, is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with operational protocols in a busy cardiology practice, including patient management workflows and electronic health records.
• Experience with stress testing and interpretation of cardiovascular diagnostics.

Compensation and Benefits
