Key Responsibilities\n

As a Mental Health Counselor, you will play a vital role in the provision of care, which includes:

• Conducting thorough assessments and preliminary interviews to gather comprehensive client histories and document progress from first consultation through treatment.

• Evaluating clients’ mental, emotional, and behavioral health using evidence-based methods and tools.
\n
• Designing personalized intervention and recovery plans tailored to individual, couple, family, and group needs.
\n
• Facilitating engaging and responsive individual and group therapy sessions utilizing various therapeutic techniques.
\n
• Monitoring client progress throughout their treatment journey, adjusting plans as necessary based on the effectiveness of interventions.

• Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of mental health specialists, primary care providers, and social workers to establish integrated intervention strategies.

• Following up on clients who may require hospitalization or additional care, ensuring continuity of care.

Qualifications\n

To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following requirements:

• A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Social Work, Psychology, or Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.

• Current, valid licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in New York State.

• Successful completion of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas simply and effectively.

• Strong interpersonal skills and a supportive demeanor conducive to building rapport with clients.

Preferred Experience\n

Preferred candidates will possess:

• Prior experience as a Mental Health Counselor, ideally in a telehealth setting.

Compensation and Benefits\n
