Temporary Accounting Technician - College of Liberal Arts - (UTEMPS) Hiring Department: UTemp Pool Position Open To: All Applicants Weekly Scheduled Hours: 40 FLSA Status: Non-Exempt from FLSA Earliest Start Date: Immediately Position Duration: Expected to Continue Until Nov 30, 2026 Location: UT MAIN CAMPUS Purpose Provide key administrative support as part of the Centralized Business Services (CBS) team in the College of Liberal Arts Deans Office. This position requires initiative, judgment, strong customer service skills, and time management. It serves as a member of a team of administrative professionals supporting a wide range of academic and administrative departments, along with centers and institutes across the College. Responsibilities Communicate regularly via email with department unit staff and faculty regarding vouchers and CBS processes/knowledge. Create vouchers for payments, reimbursements, scholarships, and travel documents for faculty while adhering to college policies and procedures with high level attention to detail. Maintain payment processing electronic workflow, log daily payments/purchasing and reimbursement requests, and update client records in UT BOX. Process cash advance requests and reconciliations. Required Qualifications High school graduation or GED; three years of clerical experience; knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; demonstrated commitment to providing excellent customer service in a customer-oriented environment; demonstrated attention to detail; ability to multitask in an environment with frequent interruptions; self-starter and willing to work independently and as a team. Experience providing reception services in a professional setting and/or with clerical functions associated with sensitive and confidential information. Preferred Qualifications Additional years of clerical experience; governmental or commercial accounting experience; working knowledge of university components and Graduate School policies; ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines; familiarity with UT policy and procedures. Hourly Rate $23.00 Working Conditions Attire: Business Casual Standard Office Environment; repetitive use of keyboard at a workstation Work Shift Hours per week: 40 The work hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with a 30 minute or hour lunch period – to be discussed with the supervisor.
