Kitchen Manager
Location: Long Beach, NJ
- Oversee all daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, production, and service.
- Lead, train, and develop kitchen staff while maintaining a positive and accountable team environment.
- Ensure consistent food quality, portion control, presentation, and recipe execution.
- Manage kitchen staffing, scheduling, and labor costs.
- Monitor food inventory, ordering, receiving, storage, and product rotation.
- Maintain appropriate food and labor costs while minimizing waste.
- Ensure the kitchen meets all health, sanitation, safety, and food-handling standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen throughout each shift.
- Prepare and execute prep lists and ensure the team is properly set up for service.
- Troubleshoot operational issues and keep service running smoothly during busy periods.
- Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management of kitchen employees.
- Work closely with the General Manager and leadership team to improve kitchen operations and overall guest experience.
- 2+ years of experience in a Kitchen Manager, Sous Chef, Chef, or similar leadership position.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, kitchen operations, and food safety.
- Experience managing and developing kitchen teams.
- Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Understanding of inventory, food cost, labor, and waste control.
- Hands-on leadership style with the ability to lead by example.
- ServSafe certification is a plus.
- Availability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
