Key Responsibilities Conduct thorough preliminary interviews with new clients to collect vital personal and medical information, documenting cases meticulously from the initial consultation through the entirety of treatment. Perform mental, behavioral, and emotional health evaluations, drawing upon current methodologies to create individualized treatment plans. Design and implement effective intervention and recovery strategies for individuals, couples, families, and groups, ensuring they align with the latest therapeutic practices. Lead individual and group therapy sessions focused on skill-building and emotional healing, adapting facilitation techniques to the specific needs and dynamics of each group. Monitor client progress regularly, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to reflect changing needs and outcomes. Work collaboratively with other mental health specialists, physicians, and care coordinators to create comprehensive intervention plans. Engage in follow-up communication with psychiatrists regarding clients requiring medication management or those who are hospitalized. Identify potential barriers to recovery and implement preventative measures to address these challenges. Support family members and caregivers by providing educational resources and strategies to assist them in managing their loved ones' mental health challenges. Patient Population / Client Focus Our patient population is uniquely diverse, spanning various ages, backgrounds, and mental health needs. You will work with adults facing anxiety, depression, trauma-related issues, and relationship difficulties, as well as children and adolescents requiring specialized interventions. The differences in client experiences necessitate a nuanced understanding of cultural and socioeconomic factors influencing mental health. Qualifications A Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is essential. Current licensure as an LMFT, LPCC, or LCSW in the state of California. A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE). Demonstrated experience as a mental health counselor with a strong clinical background. Preferred Experience Familiarity with electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR, to manage client documentation and treatment history. Experience dealing with co-occurring disorders, including substance abuse and mental health conditions. Knowledge of the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) best practices. Proficient understanding of the effects of prescribed medications and their implications in counseling settings. Strong written and verbal communication abilities, coupled with exceptional interpersonal skills that demonstrate empathy and understanding. Compensation and Benefits The annual salary for this position ranges from USD 80,000 to 100,000 based on experience and qualifications.
