Key Responsibilities

• Examine and evaluate patients with functional limitations and disabilities, applying clinical reasoning to create effective treatment strategies.
• Consult with healthcare providers about the continuum of care for patients, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
• Develop, implement, and adjust comprehensive treatment and discharge plans, including educating patients and their families on care strategies.
• Maintain accurate records of evaluations and treatments, adhering to all applicable laws, regulations, and professional standards.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and collaborate with physicians, fellow therapists, and other healthcare professionals regarding patient care.
• Engage in leadership roles by participating in quality improvement programs and marketing initiatives, and mentoring support staff, including physical therapy aides and students.
• Stay current with advancements in the field of physical therapy by attending continuing education programs and in-service training sessions.
• Monitor and manage departmental resources effectively, ensuring optimal use of staff and equipment.
• Actively participate in community outreach programs that promote healthy living and rehabilitation awareness.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work primarily with orthopedic patients suffering from musculoskeletal conditions, incorporating diverse treatment approaches tailored to their individual needs. Your role is crucial in guiding patients through rehabilitation journeys, from post-operative care to chronic pain management. The patients you serve will range from those recovering from sports injuries to older adults facing age-related challenges, representing a broad spectrum of cultural backgrounds.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program is required.
• Current state license to practice physical therapy in California.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential for patient interactions and documentation.
• Proficiency in computer systems for documentation and scheduling.

Preferred Experience

While a Bachelor's degree is the minimum requirement, we highly value prior experience in an outpatient ortho-focused setting. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and experience working in interdisciplinary teams are also advantageous. Candidates who have additional certifications or training in specialized therapeutic techniques will be given preference.

Compensation and Benefits
