Teacher's Aide | Cranston, Rhode Island

This contract opportunity is based near Cranston, RI, and centers on assisting a high school junior during regular school hours (7:30 AM - 1:52 PM). You'll work closely with a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI), providing tailored guidance and encouragement to ensure a positive educational experience.


Key Qualifications:

• Experience working as a paraprofessional in a school setting is preferred
• Familiarity with supporting students with special needs, particularly those with visual impairments, is a plus
• Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers and support staff
• Strong interpersonal skills to foster student engagement and trust
• Dependable, organized, and able to follow through on daily responsibilities

Role Responsibilities:

• Support an 11th-grade student in day-to-day classroom activities
• Collaborate directly with the TVI to implement instructional strategies and accommodations
• Assist with reading materials and classroom tasks, ensuring accessibility for the student
• Monitor student participation and provide encouragement or redirection as needed
• Help maintain an inclusive and respectful classroom environment
• Communicate progress and any challenges to instructional staff as appropriate
