Work Environment\n

This position allows for remote work flexibility while maintaining a connection with the outpatient services team. You will engage in virtual consultations and participate in collaborative meetings to discuss cases, training sessions, and team strategies. As you work remotely, you will also be required to accompany law enforcement officers during field responses, necessitating adaptability and commitment to on-site engagement as needed.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Collaborate with police officers to conduct on-site psychiatric evaluations and determine the necessity for involuntary detention under California's 5150/5585 laws.

• Maintain accurate and confidential patient records, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards of practice.
\n
• Provide real-time support during mental health crises by accompanying law enforcement during critical intervention scenarios.
\n
• Facilitate effective communication among stakeholders, including law enforcement, crisis stabilization units (CSU), hospital staff, and psychiatrists to ensure cohesive care delivery.

• Assist in training law enforcement personnel on mental health crisis management techniques to promote de-escalation and safety during encounters with arrestees.
\n
• Offer short-term crisis counseling to non-violent individuals experiencing acute mental health episodes, focusing on stabilization and connection to longer-term support services.

This role primarily focuses on serving individuals with diverse mental health needs, particularly those in crisis situations. You will engage with a spectrum of clients, from arrestees facing mental health challenges to community members seeking support during personal crises. Empathy and the ability to connect with patients from various backgrounds are pivotal in ensuring they receive the necessary care and support.

Qualifications\n

• A valid Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) credential is required.

• A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or a related field.
