This position is set in a school environment in Troy, New York, allowing NPs to engage closely with children and adolescents during their formative years. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement patient management policies and procedures that align with best practices in school-based health care.
• Facilitate referrals to other healthcare professionals and medical facilities when specialized care is required.
• Engage in ongoing communication with collaborating physicians or specialists to ensure continuity and quality of care for students.
• Effectively communicate patient care needs to clinical staff and provide guidance to ensure adherence to treatment plans.
• Conduct comprehensive physical examinations to assess students' health, identifying and diagnosing acute, episodic, or chronic illnesses.
• Prescribe necessary medications and treatments, maintaining careful documentation to avoid any errors.
• Build strong rapport with students and their families, instilling trust and ensuring they feel comfortable discussing health concerns.
• Thrive in a fast-paced school environment, managing multiple priorities and adapting to changing situations as required.
• Perform additional job-related duties as assigned to support school wellness initiatives.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The Nurse Practitioner will work primarily with children and adolescents, providing primary care that emphasizes preventive health and early intervention. This role calls for a genuine passion for improving the health and wellness of low-income populations, including underserved students who may have limited access to healthcare resources. Qualifications

• A valid and active DEA license is required to prescribe medications.
• Must possess U.S. work authorization and be eligible to work in New York State.
• Flexibility in working hours and the ability to adapt to various schedules as needed.
• A Master of Science in Nursing, Doctor of Nursing Practice, or a graduate of an NP Certificate Program.
• National certification from AANP or ANCC is required.
• An unrestricted state nursing license is mandatory for this position.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience in a pediatric, school, or community health setting is advantageous.
• Strong leadership qualities and the ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams.
• Demonstrated proficiency in using Microsoft Office software and electronic health records.

Compensation and Benefits
