Work Environment\n

This role is primarily remote, providing you with flexibility while remaining an integral part of our dynamic Special Education team located in Fresno, California. You will work closely with educators, therapists, and other health professionals in a coordinated effort to enhance the educational experiences of students with special needs while adhering to strict legal and ethical standards.

Key Responsibilities\n

As a Mental Health Counselor, your responsibilities will include:

• Performing thorough mental health assessments to identify the needs and challenges of students with special needs.

• Developing personalized treatment plans that focus on emotional health, coping skills, and facilitating successful integration into the school community.
\n
• Implementing evidence-based therapeutic interventions tailored to specific disorders including ASD, ADHD, and trauma-related issues.
\n
• Providing individual and group therapy sessions that promote personal growth, emotional regulation, and resilience.
\n
• Collaborating with members of the educational and health team, including teachers, speech therapists, and occupational therapists, to deliver holistic care.

• Offering immediate crisis intervention during mental health emergencies.
\n
• Educating students and families on mental health challenges and available resources.
\n
• Maintaining precise documentation per legal and ethical guidelines, ensuring that all records are thorough and up-to-date.

• Participating in team meetings and case conferences to discuss effective strategies and outcomes.

• Keeping abreast of legislative changes and ethical standards related to mental health practices.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You will be working primarily with a youthful population in a school setting—students facing challenges ranging from autism spectrum disorder to emotional and behavioral disturbances. This role is critical in helping these students navigate their educational environment, providing them with the support they need to thrive both academically and emotionally.

Qualifications\n

To be considered for this position, applicants must possess:

• A current and valid clinical license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD).

• A Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or a related field.
\n
• Demonstrable proficiency in performing mental health assessments, diagnosing conditions, and designing effective treatment strategies.
\n
• A strong foundation in evidence-based therapeutic techniques and trauma-informed care.
\n
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to foster relationships effectively with students, families, and colleagues.

• Proficient skills in electronic health record (EHR) systems and general computer proficiency.

Preferred Experience\n

Preferred candidates will have:

• At least two years of post-licensure experience in a relevant mental health role.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The salary for this full-time position ranges from USD 60,000 to 104,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Additionally, you will receive:
