Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough evaluations of clients, assessing the intensity, frequency, and duration of their mood disorder symptoms.
• Collaborate with clients to create personalized treatment plans that align with their unique needs, preferences, and therapeutic goals.
• Employ evidence-based therapeutic techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to facilitate client progress.
• Educate clients and their families about mood disorders, treatment options, coping strategies, and self-care practices.
• Monitor and document client progress regularly while adapting treatment plans to reflect therapeutic developments and client feedback.
• Work closely with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to provide integrated care and ensure comprehensive support for clients.
• Stay informed on the latest evidence-based practices and research in the field of mood disorders to enhance treatment strategies.
• Maintain accurate and confidential records in compliance with legal and ethical guidelines.
• Participate in regular team meetings, case consultations, and ongoing professional development opportunities.
• Advocate for client needs and mental health awareness within the community, working to reduce stigma around mental health issues.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role primarily focuses on individuals experiencing mood disorders, including but not limited to depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder. Your expertise will also extend to supporting marginalized groups such as the homeless, refugees, and survivors of domestic abuse, providing essential care and resources to those in need.

Qualifications

• A current and active state license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
• A Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a related field.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, facilitating the establishment of trust and rapport with clients.
• Ability to demonstrate empathy, compassion, and a nonjudgmental attitude toward clients' experiences.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills to juggle multiple administrative and therapeutic tasks efficiently.

Preferred Experience

Compensation and Benefits
