Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations in the field alongside police officers to assess the need for involuntary detainment under 5150/5585 criteria.

• Develop actionable crisis intervention plans tailored to individual client needs, focusing on de-escalation and stabilization during mental health emergencies.
\n
• Maintain meticulous and confidential records of patient interactions, evaluations, and treatment plans, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
\n
• Facilitate effective communication between law enforcement agencies, Crisis Stabilization Units (CSUs), hospital staff, and psychiatrists to coordinate care and support services.
\n
• Conduct short-term crisis counseling for non-violent patients in distress, fostering a supportive environment while guiding them toward appropriate resources.
\n
• Assist in the transportation of individuals to mental health clinics or shelters, advocating for their immediate needs and best interests.
\n
• Lead training sessions for police personnel on recognizing and responding appropriately to mental health crises, promoting a safer interaction with arrestees.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The LPCC will primarily work with a diverse range of clients, including individuals facing acute mental health challenges in crisis situations, members of marginalized communities, and those requiring assistance with homelessness and psychiatric evaluations. This role emphasizes cultural competence and sensitivity to varied backgrounds and experiences, ensuring that all individuals receive compassionate and respectful care.

Qualifications\n

• A valid and active Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) license is required.

Compensation and Benefits\n
