Work Environment

This position is designed to be performed onsite, primarily in the homes of our clients across Fort Myers Beach and the surrounding areas. As a Physical Therapist in the home care setting, you will work in a variety of environments that allow you to engage directly with clients and their families, assessing needs and implementing effective rehabilitation strategies tailored to each individual's circumstances.

Key Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of the Orthopedic Physical Therapist include:

• Directing and delivering orthopedic rehabilitation treatments that prevent disabilities, relieve pain, and enhance functional capabilities.
• Leading and supervising a team of physical therapy assistants to ensure optimal implementation of care plans.
• Conducting thorough evaluations of client functionality using a range of tests related to muscles, nerves, joints, and functional abilities.
• Assessing clients' home environments to provide recommendations for enhancing independence and rehabilitation.
• Administering prescribed physical therapy services in clients' homes per physician guidelines.
• Implementing therapeutic exercises and guiding clients through functional activities to maximize their potential.
• Utilizing various treatment modalities such as manual therapy, traction, and massage to aid recovery.
• Evaluating and fitting clients for prosthetic and orthotic devices, making suggestions for modifications as needed.
• Maintaining accurate clinical records including initial evaluations, care plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries, and ensuring timely submission.
• Participating as a key member of the interdisciplinary team, actively engaging in case conferences to plan and refine treatment protocols for patients.
• Providing education, guidance, and support to clients and their families regarding physical therapy best practices and device usage.
• Completing on-site functional assessments, and being readily accessible to the Physical Therapy Assistant during treatment sessions.
• Performing additional duties as assigned to support company goals and patient care objectives.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role specifically targets clients dealing with orthopedic challenges, ranging from post-surgical rehabilitation to chronic pain management. The Physical Therapist will implement tailored treatment plans for a diverse patient demographic, including elderly clients maintaining their independence and younger patients recovering from sports injuries.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet the following qualifications:

• Doctorate in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid PT licensure in the state of Florida.
• CPR certification and a clean driving record.
• A commitment to clinical excellence and a passion for patient advocacy.
• Strong interpersonal skills to engage effectively with clients and their families.

Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, the following experience is preferred:

• One year of experience as a physical therapist in acute care or home care settings.

Compensation and Benefits
