Amgen seeks a strategic and innovative communications leader to serve as Executive Director, Brand Marketing & Reputation. Reporting to the Vice President of Corporate Communications, this role is responsible for advancing and protecting Amgen's reputation through integrated brand strategy, marketing, content, and storytelling.

The Executive Director will lead a multidisciplinary organization responsible for:

  • Corporate brand management
  • Brand marketing
  • Editorial strategy
  • Content operations
  • Multimedia production
  • Reputation initiatives
  • Support for the Amgen Foundation and ESG-related storytelling

This leader will oversee the development and execution of programs that strengthen trust, increase awareness, enhance stakeholder engagement, and reinforce Amgen's position as a leading biotechnology company.

Qualifications

  • Doctorate degree & 6 years of corporate communications, brand marketing, corporate affairs, content strategy, or related disciplines experience OR
  • Master’s degree & 10 years of corporate communications, brand marketing, corporate affairs, content strategy, or related disciplines experience OR
  • Bachelor’s degree & 12 years of corporate communications, brand marketing, corporate affairs, content strategy, or related disciplines experience AND
  • 6 years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs or directing the allocation of resources

Requirements

  • Experience leading enterprise brand, marketing, reputation, and content organizations
  • Expertise in brand marketing, audience engagement, and integrated campaign development
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams spanning marketing, editorial, creative, digital, and communications disciplines
  • Experience building and managing shared services or centralized operating models
  • Experience leading communications, content, marketing, or digital technology transformations
  • Understanding of digital publishing, content management, analytics, marketing technology, and emerging AI-enabled capabilities
  • Exceptional leadership, stakeholder management, and executive communication skills
  • Experience within biotechnology, healthcare, life sciences, or other highly regulated industries
  • Experience leading newsroom, owned media, corporate publishing, or integrated content organizations
  • Advanced degree in communications, marketing, business, journalism, or a related field
