Key Responsibilities

As an Orthopedic Physical Therapist, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Directing physical therapy treatment tailored to each patient's needs, with an emphasis on preventing disability, relieving pain, and enhancing muscle function.
• Overseeing the implementation of the treatment plan by physical therapy assistants, ensuring high standards of care.
• Conducting thorough evaluations of patients' physical abilities through various tests to inform and adjust treatment plans as needed.
• Assessing the home environment to identify rehabilitation opportunities and suggesting modifications to improve the patient's quality of life.
• Administering manual therapeutic exercises and instructing clients in effective physical activities as delineated in their care plans.
• Utilizing modalities such as traction, massage, and other physical agents to enhance patient recovery.
• Documenting clinical records accurately, including initial evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries, in adherence to OASIS guidelines.
• Collaborating with interdisciplinary team members to review and refine care plans based on patient feedback and response to therapy.
• Engaging with clients and their families to educate them on the therapeutic process and home exercises to reinforce treatment goals.
• Staying accessible to your team members for guidance and support regarding patient care while seeking continuous opportunities for improvement in service delivery.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your role heavily focuses on orthopedic patients requiring rehabilitation services at home. You will work with a diverse demographic, including individuals recovering from surgeries, injuries, and chronic conditions that limit mobility. Qualifications

To excel in this role, candidates are required to have:

• A Doctorate in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
• A valid PT license in good standing within the state of Florida.
• Current CPR certification and a valid driver's license with automobile insurance.
• A demonstrated commitment to clinical excellence and quality care delivery.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and their families.

Preferred Experience

Ideal candidates will have:

• A minimum of one year of experience as a physical therapist, particularly in an acute care or home care setting.
