Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments for clients, gathering detailed history and identifying specific needs to formulate personalized treatment plans.

• Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions tailored to individuals, couples, and families, employing modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT).

• Facilitate engaging psychoeducational and support groups, creating a safe space for clients to discuss common mental health concerns and connect with fellow participants.

• Work collaboratively with psychiatrists, psychologists, and other mental health professionals to deliver integrated patient care, ensuring that all aspects of a client’s mental health are addressed.

• Provide crisis intervention services and immediate support during mental health emergencies, helping clients navigate acute challenges.

• Educate clients on mental health issues, treatment modalities, coping strategies, and available local and national resources to enhance their understanding and engagement in their recovery.

• Maintain detailed and confidential documentation in adherence to all legal and ethical guidelines, using our electronic health record (EHR) system to track client progress and treatment outcomes.

• Engage in regular case consultations, team meetings, and ongoing professional development to continually refine skills and enhance teamwork.

• Periodically review relevant literature and best practices in mental health therapy to incorporate the latest findings into your practice.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

East Metro Counseling Services assists a diverse client base, including individuals coping with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and various substance use issues. Our clients range from children to adults, and as a mental health therapist, your role will involve adapting your approach to accommodate the unique experiences and backgrounds of each patient, ensuring culturally and contextually appropriate care.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.

• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Oregon.

• Strong understanding of mental health disorders, treatment modalities, and therapeutic practices.

• Proven experience conducting comprehensive assessments and developing effective, client-centered treatment plans.

• Diverse experience conducting both individual and group therapy sessions.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with an emphasis on active listening and empathetic engagement.

• High ethical standards and sound judgment in maintaining professional boundaries.

• Proficiency in electronic health record systems as well as basic computer applications.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The compensation for this position ranges from $80,000 to $100,000 annually, dependent on experience and qualifications.
