Genetic CounselorProviding remote based genetic counseling for VHA practices across the United States.This individual will be a genetic counseling resource serving a diverse population of patients.The counselor will have the ability to identify and implement processes to improve the patient experience and will have an opportunity to participate in educational and research initiatives.Ordering genetic testing and returning genetic test results.Documentation in VA EHRCare coordination with VA ProvidersTelehealth delivery via VA Virtual Video Connect (VVC)Approximately 50-60% of new consultations are for personal/family history of cancer. Of the remaining 40-50% of consultations, there are a wide range of common adult genetics indications, including (in descending order of frequency): Cardiogenetics, Preconception (primarily carrier screening), Neurogenetics, Endocrinology/Infertility, Connective Tissue Disorders, Hematology, and others.Additional Skills & Qualifications:Requirements:3+ years previous genetic counseling experience preferredMultistate licensure is preferredTelemedicine experienceVA/Federal healthcare experienceComfortable with EHR documentationRemote work CapableStrong patient communication skillsNote: Contractors can only see patients (remotely) from facilities in state(s) where they hold an active license.Job Type & Location:This is a Contract position based out of Dallas, TX.Pay and Benefits:The pay range for this position is $48.00 - $60.00/hr.Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
