Work Environment

This full-time position is set within our bustling on-site hospital facility in Corpus Christi. Working primarily in the Urgent Care department, you will experience a dynamic and fast-paced environment where adaptability is key. The facility is well-equipped with cutting-edge medical technology and support staff, allowing you to focus on what you do best—caring for patients. This role demands a Monday-to-Friday schedule, typically starting at 5:00 PM, totaling 40 hours weekly, and offers a combination of regular hours with occasional shifts as needed to meet patient demands.

Key Responsibilities

As a Physician Assistant in our Urgent Care department, you will be responsible for:

• Conducting thorough physical examinations, reviewing patient histories, and accurately documenting findings.
• Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, such as blood tests and imaging studies, to aid in diagnosis and treatment.
• Diagnosing a wide range of acute illnesses and injuries, including but not limited to respiratory infections, minor traumas, and other urgent care emergencies.
• Developing individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient’s specific needs and circumstances.
• Prescribing medications and monitoring their effects on patient recovery and health outcomes.
• Providing patient education on preventive health measures, disease management, and overall wellness strategies.
• Maintaining organized and up-to-date patient records, ensuring compliance with health regulations and standards.
• Collaborating with physicians and healthcare teams to refine patient care pathways and enhance treatment efficacy.
• Participating in quality improvement initiatives aimed at improving patient care protocols.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The patients you will encounter in our Urgent Care department come from diverse backgrounds and face a variety of health challenges. You will be responsible for managing patients of all ages, from children to adults, who require immediate care. Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must possess the following qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Physician Assistant studies or a related field.
• Valid Physician Assistant certification (PA-C) and an active DEA number.
• Demonstrated clinical experience as a Physician Assistant in an urgent care, emergency room, or hospital setting.
• Comprehensive understanding of primary and acute care practices, as well as familiarity with health care regulations.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to empathize and engage effectively with patients and their families.
• A strong ethical commitment to patient-centered care and safety.

Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, candidates who possess bilingual abilities, particularly in Spanish, will be considered favorably, as they enhance our ability to serve the diverse population of Corpus Christi more effectively. Experience in electronic health records (EHR) systems and familiarity with telemedicine practices are also beneficial.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary ranging from USD 140,000 to 180,000 annually, commensurate with experience, alongside an extensive benefits package including:
