Work Environment

This position is onsite at our state-of-the-art Rehabilitation Center located in McLean, Virginia, where we utilize advanced technology and facilities to provide comprehensive therapy services. Within our center, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team comprising physicians, occupational therapists, and support staff, all focused on delivering holistic care. The work schedule is set from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, providing a consistent work-life balance for our employees.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough examinations and evaluations of patients with functional limitations and disabilities, developing tailored treatment plans that meet individual needs.

• Maintain a thorough understanding of state-specific practice acts and adhere to legal frameworks governing physical therapy practice, ensuring compliance at all levels.

• Provide evaluation services that include reviewing patient history, performing precise assessments, and documenting results to guide treatment decision-making.

• Implement evidence-based treatment protocols based on evaluation findings while adapting to each patient's unique presentation and needs.

• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care, recognizing and documenting any changes in a patient's condition that necessitate a modification of their plan.

• Engage in discharge planning and follow-up care, ensuring timely and accurate documentation of patient encounters, including initial evaluations, progress updates, and discharge summaries.

• Fulfill daily treatment assignments while guaranteeing the delivery of high-quality patient care and maximizing departmental productivity.

• Stay current by attending relevant conferences, meetings, and in-services, contributing to both individual and team development.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As an Orthopedic Physical Therapist at Start Fit Physical Therapy, you will primarily work with patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries, sports injuries, and musculoskeletal issues. Our clientele ranges from active professionals to seniors seeking rehabilitation after surgery. Your expertise will play a critical role in restoring their physical function, alleviating pain, and enabling them to return to their daily activities and sports.

Qualifications

• A Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited program.

• A valid physical therapy license in the state of Virginia.

• A minimum of 2 years of clinical experience as a physical therapist, preferably in an orthopedic or rehabilitation setting.

• Current CPR certification to ensure patient safety during treatment.

• Strong interpersonal skills that foster trust and rapport with patients in a therapeutic setting.

Preferred Experience

• Advanced training in orthopedic rehabilitation techniques or physical therapy specializations.

• Familiarity with digital applications or solutions that enhance patient engagement and treatment tracking.
